Rick's Ranch, near Campo and Freddy's Truck Farm, was the venue for my latest "abstractomentary" -- a series of documentary images of the environment, and the abstracts that come from it.
I went there in mid December 2015. The wind was blowing hard, and there was a distinct chill in the air. On the way, I drove slowly down old Highway 80, looking for old cars and buildings to photograph. . .

. . . selecting my favorite 10 for the year a somewhat daunting proposition. I don't publish an image unless I really like it. I took thousands of images during the year, but the ones I added to my site were the only ones that made the cut. There's something about these 10 images that struck a nerve, though, and I'll try to explain my choice of each one of them.
One day, while driving to one of my favorite haunts, I happened upon Freddy's Truck Farm. This is private property, so I can't disclose where it is, but the owner, Freddy, was very nice and invited me to take all the photos I wanted.
I get asked this question quite a bit. My answer is always "YES!".
What I mean is this: the colors you see on my final image are real. Theyare the colors I saw in my mind's eye when I composed the original image.
