John & Gerda Scott, Last Years in Denver, 1967-69

John Scott Builder lands its biggest contract, building an entire town in Montana for Sam Gary. Meanwhile, Tom gets deeper and deeper in the anti-war protest movement. He leaves Columbia for Colorado University, and then, after a couple of years, drops out to become a full time anti-war organizer. He gets thrown in jail twice, mortifying his parents. At the end of 1969, John and Gerda retire and move to Cuernavaca, while Tom joins the Venceremos Brigade in Cuba.
