Tom & Marlene in Hawaii, 1975-1977
A year after they met in Chicago in 1974, Tom and Marlene decided to go traveling. They ended up in Hawaii, where they lived for two years. Marlene worked as a pharmacist tech at Kaiser Honolulu, and Tom worked as a machinist for a large sugar machinery manufacturer. They stayed until Marlene found out her father had bone cancer, and was going to die soon. She left in December 1976, and organized the wedding in two weeks. At the end of December, Tom joined her and they were married on January 2, 1977.
